Turkeys and Tamales 2018

Stuffing and Stuffed were the words of the night!

The 3rd Annual Turkeys and Tamales Thanksgiving dinner was held on Thursday, November 8, 2018.  Parishioners and friends gave thanks to God for all that we have been given this past year.  We shared traditional American Thanksgiving fare including turkey, ham, sweet potatoes, dressing, casseroles and salads, along with Guatemalan treats like tamales and empanadas. A few brave people participated in the turkey calling contest and the children had a great time breaking open the piñatas.  We are all looking forward to the 4th Annual dinner in 2019!

Journey of Faith/Camino de Fe

Share the Journey

On September 27, Pope Francis launched worldwide, a two-year Share the Journey campaign which urges Catholics around the globe to encounter, walk with, and support migrants and refugees.  The Pope hopes the campaign will break down barriers of fear and suspicion and build bridges of understanding and hospitality.  He sees it at as response to the Gospel mandate: Love your neighbor.  Here at Holy Family, we'll be sharing the journey with a program called "Journey of Faith/Camino de Fe."

Advent Breakfast Fun - See what you missed!

Waiting for Jesus together

The cafeteria was filled to capacity as members of the parish joined each other at the "Waiting for Jesus Advent Breakfast" on December 10th.  While everyone waited for the food to be served, youth from Good Shepherd Parish did crafts with the children. After breakfast, the children were treated to a visit from Santa Claus and a piñata.  They also prepared the manger for the baby Jesus. Special thanks to Joan Thompson and Joyce Barrett who chaired the event, to the Ladies of the Parish who sponsored the event, to all the cooks and servers behind the scenes, the youth of Good Shepherd, Santa and his elves and the cleaning crew.  Special thanks to Walter Plummer from Good Shepherd for sharing his photos with us.
